Jane’s Addiction played a rare intimate gig in London last night (July 16).
The band – fresh from playing the O2 Arena with Nine Inch Nails the night before (July 15) – got up close and personal with a crowd of 300 at Centro in Holborn.
Surrounded by fire-breathing strippers and projections of pornographic images, the band played a tight set despite guitarist Dave Navarro feeling unwell.
Many of the crowd – which included The La’s‘ Lee Mavers and Babyshambles‘ Drew McConnell – had queued since noon to bag one of the few tickets that were being sold on the door, with one even jetting in from Italy for the show.
Playing a set that included ‘Being Caught Stealing’ and ‘Ted, Just Admit It’, frontman Perry Farrell joked with the audience that they were enjoying their “residency” in the capital, before wrapping the show up with the classic ‘Ocean Size’
“Jane’s Addiction are London‘s new house band,” he declared. “Playing all venues every Friday night this month!”
Jane’s Addiction played:
‘Up The Beach’
‘Whores’
‘One Percent’
‘Ain’t No Right’
‘Ted, Just Admit It’
‘Mountain Song’
‘Been Caught Stealing’
‘Had A Dad’
‘Summertime Rolls’
