LOLLAPALOOZA FESTIVAL POSTPONED

The return of the US alternative music festival will be delayed for another year says Perry Farrell...

The planned return of seminal US alternative music festival LOLLAPALOOZA has been delayed until 2003.

As previously reported, organiser Perry Farrell planned to get back together with fellow founders the William Morris Agency and his former manager Ted Gardner to restart the event later this summer.

However, Farrell issued a statement to the US media yesterday (April 8), claiming “a late start” in organising a 2002 festival means they are now going to concentrate on organising next year’s event.

He said: “Having gotten a late start, we felt it would be smart to start building now for summer 2003. It will afford us a chance to get the headliner we really want.”
