Janet Jackson has revealed the video for new song ‘No Sleeep’ with a new verse from rapper J. Cole.
The track was produced by longtime collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and comes ahead of a new, as yet untitled, album later this year. The record will be her first full length release since 2008.
Jackson’s 11th studio album is expected to be released in the autumn in a partnership between BMG and her own label Rhythm Nation.

Jackson makes history with the launch of Rhythm Nation, becoming the first female African-American recording artist to form her own label. A press release confirming the news read: “With Rhythm Nation Janet Jackson becomes arguably the first female African-American recording artist to form her own record label. At Rhythm Nation Janet plans to offer a home to both new and established recording artists.
“The partnership with BMG makes Janet Jackson the biggest worldwide superstar yet to quit the traditional record label system for a so-called artist services deal, designed to put artists in the driving seat. Unlike a traditional record deal, under an artist services deal the artist retains ownership of their recordings and full oversight of all costs and revenues.”
In addition to new music, Jackson recently announced plans for a world tour.
The singer has scheduled 36 North American dates, which will be the first leg of a global live stint. The ‘Unbreakable’ world tour will kick off on September 8 in Winnipeg, Canada. See the full list of live dates at Jackson’s website.
Jackson released ‘Discipline’, her last album, in 2008. A hits collection, ‘Number Ones’, followed a year after. She has released 10 studio albums in total, including global chart toppers ‘Control’, ‘Rhythm Nation’, ‘Janet’ and ‘All For You’.
