JANET JACKSON’s estranged husband RENE ELIZONDO JR could be awarded over $10 million if LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT court upholds his claims that he contributed to her music career after they started living together in secret in September 1987.

The couple’s relationship was kept under wraps until Elizondo filed for divorce in May last year after almost eight years of marriage. Now, in a lawsuit filed on December 30, he claims that he “contributed his skills, efforts and labour in the collaboration with her concerning her music career,” according to reports on

He alleges that she broke an agreement to share “equitable property,” earnings from her album ‘Rhythm Nation 1814’ and saving and investment accounts. The lawsuit claims that they had agreed to share property acquired during the relationship, but when they split in 1999 she went back on her promises that he would be treated fairly as a partner and paid an equal share.
