Jackson fans recently claimed that they’ve been forced to remove live videos of the singer’s current US tour due to copyright infringement. Other fans claimed to have photos from shows removed.

Many fans are said to have received an email stating that “a third party reported that the content violates their copyright”, others allege that their accounts have been suspended as a result.

Responding to the controversy, the singer has admitted that her team have been removing longer clips, but says they will now “change their approach” for shorter recordings.

Jackson wrote on Twitter: “I want you to know that I enjoy watching the short clips of how you are Burning It Up at the Unbreakable shows. Please keep posting them”.

“My team is passionate about protecting the intellectual property we are creating for the tour and possible future projects. It was never their intention, acting on my behalf, to have social media accounts removed. Permitting the use of long clips does present a contractual problem for these projects. I hope you understand. I trust the fans will use their short recordings for their own memories and to share on their social media networks of choice.”

She added: “I have asked my team to change their approach and allow you to engage socially with these videos.”

Jackson’s upcoming album ‘Unbreakable’, the singer’s 11th studio album and her first since 2008’s ‘Discipline’, was released on October 2.

Jackson recently announced details of four UK arena dates to take place in March and April 2016. Jackson will make her UK live return with gigs in Birmingham, London, Glasgow and Manchester next year.

Jackson will play the following live dates:

Birmingham, Barclaycard Arena (March 30)
London, O2 Arena (March 31)
Glasgow, SSE Hydro (April 4)
Manchester, Arena (April 5)
