Jason Derulo’s ‘Want To Want Me’ revealed as biggest-selling song of summer 2015

Sales of 391,000 put it ahead of Lost Frequencies' 'Are You With Me' and OMI's 'Cheerleader'

Jason Derulo’s single ‘Want To Want Me’ has been named as the biggest-selling song of the summer.

Figures from Official Charts Company dating from June 1 and August 31 helped compile their list of the biggest Songs Of Summer 2015. Derulo’s track, which was released in June and became the singer’s fourth Number One single, was the most popular during that period, with total sales figures of 391,000.

Speaking to the Official Charts Company, Derulo said, “When I made this song I knew it was special, but these type of accolades reinforce that and keep me hungry for more great moments to come.”


The second biggest-selling song of the summer was Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies’ ‘Are You With Me’, which notched up sales of 348,000.

The Felix Jaehn remix of OMI’s ‘Cheerleader’ was in the third spot with sales of 295,000, ahead of Tinie Tempah and Jess Glynne’s ‘Not Letting Go’ (277,000 sales) and Walk The Moon’s ‘Shut Up And Dance’ (266,000 sales).

The Official Charts Company also revealed the summer’s most streamed song: Major Lazer’s ‘Lean On’, featuring MO and DJ Snake, clocked up 25.6 million plays during the summer.

OMI’s ‘Cheerleader’ was in second with 25.1 million plays, ahead of Derulo’s ‘Want To Want Me’ (22 million streams), Skrillex, Diplo and Justin Bieber’s collaboration ‘Where Are U Now?’ (20.2 million) and Fetty Wap’s ‘Trap Queen’ (19.3 million).
