The feud between JAY-Z and Nas flared again in NEW YORK on Tuesday (September 24) when a radio DJ who had helped stoke the row’s flames was charged with assaulting a rival station’s DJ.

Funkmaster Flex, real name Aston Taylor, was charged with assaulting Power 105 DJ Stephanie Saunders, known as Big Steph Luva.

The pair had swapped insults on air after Saunders featured Nas on her controversial show in June.

On air, the rapper attacked Taylor’s Hot 97 station for refusing to host a mock lynching of Jay-Z during the station’s Summer Jam open-air festivals.

The tirade came to head last Thursday when Taylor allegedly choked and punched six-footer Saunders outside Hot 97’s Greenwich Village studios.

Taylor was charged after giving himself up to New York police. A court date has yet to be set.

Nas and Jay-Z ’s long-running feud is one the most bitter in rap and has been fought in the pages of magazines, in the lyrics of songs and on TV and radio stations. It spiralled after Nas rubbished JAY-Z protégé Memphis Bleek on his track ‘What You Think of That’.
