Ashley Cole confirms plans to open London restaurant and club with Jay-Z

Pop star and footballer team up for 40/40 project
Hip-hop artist Jay-Z and footballer Ashley Cole are to open a new club and restaurant in London based on the singer’s string of American nightclubs, 40/40.

As reported in The Sun, the pair are looking to give the restaurant/club exclusivity, with Pall Mall said to be top of their list of locations.

The England and Chelsea footballer said, “I’m delighted to be working with Jay-Z. I have grown up listening to his music so to be doing business with him is amazing.”

The project is reported to be giving much of its profits to charity and hopes to hire “long-term unemployed young people” to work in the bar and restaurant.

Cole explained: “The project will be delivering much-needed funds back into sport and music on a community level.”

Recently Jay-Z‘s wife Beyonce also expressed her love for all things English. After headlining Glastonbury, she called the show “a career highlight”.
