Legendary Yardbirds man also covers Lady Gaga at awards ceremony

Jeff Beck performed a series of covers at Camden‘s Roundhouse last night (November 9) as he picked up the Living Legend Award at Classic Rock magazine’s annual event.

The Yardbirds man closed the night with a run of well-known hits, including Lady Gaga[b]’s ‘Bad Romance’ and a cover of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ ‘I Put A Spell On You’ featuring Joss Stone. He was then joined onstage by Chrissie Hynde for a rendition of ‘I’ll Stand By You’.

Kiss frontman Gene Simmons presided over an evening that saw wins for Deep Purple, The Scorpions, The Who and supergroup Black Country Communion. Manic Street Preachers took home the award for Classic Songwriter.

Jethro Tull scooped the coveted Spirit Of Prog gong while the late Steve Marriott was honoured with the Tommy Vance Inspiration Award and Foo Fighters won Band Of The Year.

Motorhead‘s Lemmy, Duff McKagan and Jeremy Clarkson were among the guests at the party.
