Thank you Jeff, very cool!
The 1975 have found a new fan in Jeff Goldblum according to frontman Matty Healy.
The Manchester band released their third album, ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships‘, in November. It landed at Number 1 on NME‘s Albums of The Year list, beating Arctic Monkeys to the top spot.
Now, ahead of their UK arena tour later this month, Matty Healy has shared some feedback from the one and only Jeff Goldblum.
The Jurrasic Park actor, who turned his hand to jazz with debut album ‘The Capitol Studios Sessions’ last year, is apparently a fan of the group’s ‘wonderful’ comeback single ‘Give Yourself A Try’.
Posting on Twitter, Healy shared the quote from Goldblum’s review in Music Week: “Wonderful song. I’m trying to apply what I think they mean. So far, so good – Jeff Goldblum”.
In a follow-up tweet, the musician added that Goldblum was referring to the ‘A Brief Inquiry…’ lead single. Check out the posts below.
Some fans have replied by calling for a collaboration between Goldblum and the lads.
Reviewing Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Four Out Of Five’ in the same Music Week feature, Goldblum said: “Four Out Of Five? I give it Five Out Of Five Goldblums.”
Meanwhile, Matty Healy recently aired his desire to work with Ariana Grande after covering ‘Thank U, Next’ in Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
“It’s just the best song out at this time. It is also the biggest song of the moment,” he told the Times of India of the break-up banger. When asked if a potential collaboration was on the cards, Healy replied: “Yeah, I would love to. She has such an amazing voice.”
The 1975’s UK and Ireland arena tour is set to kick off in Belfast on January 9. The stint will include two nights at London’s O2 Arena and will conclude in Sheffield. See the full schedule and find any remaining tickets here.
