SEAN ‘PUFFY’ COMBS and JENNIFER LOPEZ have issued a joint statement denying they have split and insisting they are still “making music” together.
The brief statement coincides with news about the release of Lopez’ new album, produced by Combs, on January 23. It is preceded by a single, ‘Love Don’t Cost A Thing’ on January 8.
“We have been working on this album for months in several recording studios,” they said. “We have and will continue making music together and just wish people would let us live our lives and stay out of our business.”
In a blast at constant press reports about an alleged break-up, they added, “We are frustrated with the media meddling in our relations. We are not at odds and the Puff and Jennifer break-up story is getting old.”
The statement is similar to one issued by Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford several years ago. They took out an advertisement in The Times newspaper insisting they were very much together in a bid to stem rumours of an imminent break-up. They subsequently broke up.
