The track will be performed live for the first time at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20)
Lopez has followed up the February release of her Skrillex collaboration ‘US’ with the new track, which will be given its live debut on Sunday (May 20) at the Billboard Music Awards. The singer has also released the single ‘En Anillo’ this year.
Ahead of that performance, Lopez has today (May 17) dropped the track – showcasing Cardi B’s guest verse and Khaled’s trademark ad-libs. Listen to ‘Dinero’ below.
Following the release of Rita Ora’s track ‘Girls’ – which also featured Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha and Cardi – the British musician faced a backlash from the LGBTQ+ community over a section of its lyrics. Pop singer Hayley Kiyoko and R&B artist Kehlani were among the more prominent names to criticise the track, slamming the creation for being “downright tone-deaf.”
Cardi came to the defence of both the song and Ora by explaining that the artists involved “never intended to cause harm or bad intentions with the song”.
“I know I have use [sic] words before that I wasn’t aware are offensive to the LGBT community,” she added on Twitter. “I apologise for that. Not everybody knows the correct ‘terms’ to use. I learned and I stopped using it.”
