Jessie J, Adele, Tinie Tempah lead MOBO nominations

The awards ceremony will take place in Glasgow next month

Jessie J has chalked up the most nominations for this year’s MOBO Awards.

The Essex pop star has scored five nods for the awards bash, which will be held at the SECC in Glasgow on October 5, with nominations in the best song, best album, best newcomer, best video and best UK act categories. In a statement the singer said:

I am so honoured to be nominated. I have watched so many of the artists I look up to being nominated, winning awards and performing. It’s amazing to be in the company of such amazing talent.

Jessie J will also be performing live at the ceremony, alongside fellow nominee Katy B. The ceremony will be co-hosted by Jason Derulo.

Adele, Tinie Tempah and Wretch 32 are close behind Jessie J, with four nominations each. Adele, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Katy B and Chase And Status will all be battling it out for the best album honour, while Jamie Woon, Ed Sheeran and Wretch 32 have been tipped in the best newcomer category.

Other categories include best gospel act, best jazz act, best reggae act and best African act.
