Watch Jesy from Little Mix get reminded of the time she attempted to do a Jamaican accent

Awkward moment happened at last night's BRITs

Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson was reminded of the famous viral video of her attempting a Jamaican accent and failing badly at last night’s BRIT Awards.

The pop group were being interviewed by host Jack Whitehall at their table when he quipped: “Last month you hit 3 billion views on YouTube and only 2 billion of those are people watching you trying to do a Jamaican accent, Jesy.”

See that moment in the clip below:

Needless to say, Jesy and her bandmates’ reactions were pretty priceless:

The 38th BRIT Awards were held at London’s O2 Arena last night (February 21). Stormzy and Dua Lipa took home big awards on the night. See the full winners list here.

Earlier this week saw Jesy Nelson accused of cultural appropriation after sporting dreadlocks in an Instagram photo.

After sharing the snap, some fans accused Nelson of “textbook” cultural appropriation, arguing that her borrowing from black culture is “offensive”.

One fan wrote: “Jesy, hun, I love you, but please take this down or write an apology. It may have not been thought about at the time, but this is cultural appropriation. I’m not hating and you do look beautiful, but this hairstyle isn’t meant for you.”
