Jet cover Kasabian at the Electric Proms

The Aussies perform 'Reason Is Treason'

Jet kept up the covers vibe at the BBC Electric Proms tonight (October 26) by performing Kasabian track ‘Reason Is Treason’ at the Camden Barfly.

The Aussie rockers threw in a guitar-driven rendition of the song midway through their 60-minute gig, which saw the band return to the venue where they performed their first ever UK show.

Playing a set which borrowed heavily from their second album ‘Shine On’, the four-piece thrilled the crowd with a series of new tracks including ‘Holiday’, ‘Stand Up’ and forthcoming single ‘Bring It On Back’.

The band also threw in ‘Get Born’ favourites ‘Cold Hard Bitch’ and ‘Look What You’ve Done’ before the biggest cheer of the night was reserved for fan favourite ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’.

The gig marked singer Nic Cester‘s return to the stage after he was recently struck down with acute laryngitis. Despite his recent problems, Cester who was dressed in a red suede jacket and silk scarf, was in fine voice.

Before the band launched into their new single, he paid tribute to the venue and told the crowd: “It is nice to be back in London. We did our first show here so its nice to come full circle.”
