JILL SCOTT has capped an outstanding year by being nominated for the NAACP’s 32nd Image Awards.

The diva heads up the Outstanding new Artist, Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Song (‘Gettin’ In The Way’) categories.

Other nominees include Toni Braxton, D’ Angelo, Lucy Pearl, Carl Thomas and gospel singers Yolanda Adams and Mary Mary. Up and coming nu classic soul soloist Musiq has also been nominated.


The year just keeps on getting better for Scott. Following the release of her internationally acclaimed debut, ‘Who Is Jill Scott? – Words & Sounds Vol 1’, Scott has toured the globe with her jazz, soul and poetry inspired material and shifted over quarter of a million copies of her debut album.

The awards will take place in California on March 3rd 2001.
