Last member of Jimi Hendrix’s band plays all-star tribute gig

Primal Scream, Gary Moore and Dave Bronze play classic Hendrix songs

Mitch Mitchell, the only surviving member of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, played drums last night (October 25) as part of a supergroup that included Gary Moore on lead guitar and Band Of GypsysBill Cox on bass.

The collective performed Hendrix classics including ‘Red House’, ‘Stone Free’ and ‘Hey Joe’ to a packed crowd at London’s Hippodrome venue.

The gig followed a short set of Jimi Hendrix tunes by Moore, Primal Scream’s Darrin Mooney on drums and former Ray Davies and Eric Clapton collaborator Dave Bronze on bass. There was also a screening of the new DVD release ‘The Jimi Hendrix Experience Live At Monterey’, released on October 29.
