Fans of the late Clash
frontman, JOE STRUMMER, are being urged to plant trees in his memory.
The Future Forests environmental charity is planting a Joe Strummer Memorial Forest on the Isle of Skye.
Strummer was a supporter of the charity, which encourages people to plant trees to help compensate for the pollution they cause.
A Future Forests spokesperson said: “Joe absolutely loved forests and trees, and helped get Future Forests started. His inspiration and energy backstage at Glastonbury 1997 was the spark that got Future Forests going.
“Joe then decided that he would have his own forest planted, to offset the emissions from his CDs, and became the world’s first Carbon Neutral artist.”
People can pay for trees to be planted via the Future Forests website by clicking [url=]here. In return, they will receive a certificate and a map of the forest.
