It's the nation's favourite lyric and second favourite song according to recent polls....

John Lennon‘s ‘Imagine’ is being rereleased 30 years on and is already being tipped as a possible Christmas and Millennium number one.

Lennon‘s anti-materialist anthem has been in the UK charts three times in the UK – in 1975, in 1981 (after Lennon‘s assassination) and in 1988 (as a spin-off from the TV documentary based on Lennon that was shown that year) – though it was a hit the first time in the US only in 1971.

The single is out on December 13, a few days after the anniversary of Lennon’s death outside the Dakota Building in New York.

Recently voted nation’s lyric of all time, ‘Imagine’ also came second in the best song of all time in the Channel 4/HMV Music Of The Miillennium poll with John Lennon being named as the most influential musician of all time.

Technically, it’s a John Lennon with The Plastic Ono Band EP with other tracks ‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over)’ and ‘Give Peace A Chance’.
