The star is posthumously honoured in Nashville...
The late Johnny Cash has triumphed at this year’s COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, winning three awards.
The event, in Nashville, also featured a touching tribute to the Man In Black, who died on September 12.
Johnny Cash won Album Of The Year for ‘The Man Comes Around’ and Single Of The Year, and Music Video Of The Year for ‘Hurt’. The star’s son John Carter Cash, described 2003 as a year of pain – his mother June Carter Cash, also a country star in her own right, also died.
The musical tribute to Johnny Cash, which included renditions of a selection of his songs by Kris Kristofferson, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Travis Tritt and Hank Williams Jr, was greeted with a standing ovation.
