There had been a growing clamour for ‘Hurt’ to appear after a poignant video for the song started to generate huge interest. The video, shot by director Mark Romanek – best known for clips such as the bank busting ‘Scream’ by Michael Jackson

and Johnny Cash

and more recently feature film ‘One Hour Photo’ – is extremely candid and intense. It sees The Man In Black perform ‘Hurt’ in his home, with no effort made to hide his age or increasing frailty. The video has already reduced both Zack De La Rocha, formerly of Rage Against The Machine and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails – who wrote the song – to tears.

To coincide with the release, a new version of [a][/a] ‘s 2002 album ‘The Man Comes Around’ will also appear. It will carry bonus track ‘Big Iron’ and as well as the video for ‘Hurt’.
