John Lydon scatters ashes of late fan at Public Image Ltd. show

Footage has now surfaced of the scattering.

John Lydon – Johnny Rotten of Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd. – recently scattered the ashes of a deceased fan on the stage during a PiL show.

Performing in Frome, Somerset in June, Lydon was asked to scatter the ashes of a fan called Stuart who recently died. Lydon told the crowd: “His sister has asked me to spread [his ashes] on the stage tonight, and I think that’s one of the nicest, most humblest things.”

The singer continued: “This is for Stuart, a fan whose request is his ashes be spread on the PiL stage. Stuart, we love you! In memory! Stuart!”
