Performing in Frome, Somerset in June, Lydon was asked to scatter the ashes of a fan called Stuart who recently died. Lydon told the crowd: “His sister has asked me to spread [his ashes] on the stage tonight, and I think that’s one of the nicest, most humblest things.”
The singer continued: “This is for Stuart, a fan whose request is his ashes be spread on the PiL stage. Stuart, we love you! In memory! Stuart!”

Recently, John Lydon spoke about how the demise and death of Sid Vicious led to the Public Image Ltd track ‘Low Life’.
Lydon opened up about how the track was inspired by Sid Vicious – who was on bail for the murder of girlfriend Nancy Spungen at the time he wrote it.
“I missed Sid,” said Lydon. “I missed how I could have helped him, steered him away, but he sought it out. We dragged him into the band but he wasn’t prepared for the onslaught.”
Lydon is currently touring with Public Image Ltd. The band’s upcoming UK tour dates are below. Visit here for tickets and more information.
