The music biz Svengali is facing 14 sex charges...
Music industry guru JONATHAN KING made a brief appearance at the OLD BAILEY in LONDON this morning (March 6), charged with 14 sex offences.
According to BBC news, King, real name Kenneth George King, appeared for a six-minute hearing before Mr Justice Gage. His bail was extended to April 9, when he will appear in court again.
The charges, said to have occurred between 1969 and 1987, relate to two separate arrests. The first of these, during November 2000, saw him charged on one count of indecent assault, one of buggery and another of attempted buggery.
The second arrest came on January 23 when he was charged on seven counts of buggery on males under 16 and one count of attempted buggery on a male under 16 as well as three charges of indecent assault, one on a male of 17, the others on two males under 16.
The impresario, made his name as the man who discovered bands such as 10cc and Genesis as well as releasing a host of hits under his own name and various pseudonyms. He has denied all the allegations.
