Josh Homme invited Spiderman on stage and it was brilliant

The superhero joined Queens Of The Stone Age during their Rock Werchter set

Josh Homme invited Spiderman onstage as Queens Of The Stone Age performed at Belgium’s Rock Werchter Festival this weekend (July 5).

The Californian rock group appeared on the first day of the festival, taking to the Main Stage ahead of Gorillaz‘s headline set.

Spotting a fan dressed as the superhero in the crowd, Homme dedicated a song to Spiderman, before instructing the audience: “Come to me. Bring Spiderman to me. Just carry him to me, would you? Be gentle with me.”

He continued beckoning the fan towards him as he crowdsurfed to the front of the crowd and was taken up onstage. Once there, Homme and the superhero hugged and danced together, with the frontman saying: “You dance like a sexy bitch.” He then instructed him to “drink on the side of the stage until I’m done and then I’ll come find you.”

Spiderman, however, didn’t move, causing Homme to take his hand and tell him: “My Spidey sense is tingling and it’s saying get the fuck off the stage now. He made it from way the fuck back there all the way here. He’s going to make it all the way onto my bus.” The band then launched into ‘You Think I Ain’t Worth A Dollar, But I Feel Like A Millionaire’. Watch the moment above.

While QOTSA were in the UK earlier this month, Homme surprised a Cornish barber ahead of the band’s show at the Eden Project. The band also recently headlined a huge gig in London’s Finsbury Park, where they were joined by the likes of Brody Dalle, Miles Kane, Iggy Pop and more.
