Josh Homme surprises Cornish barber by calling for haircut, and inviting him to watch England match

It's coming Homme...

Before Queens Of The Stone Age stormed Eden Project earlier this week, frontman Josh Homme surprised one local barber by calling him up for a haircut – before inviting him to watch the England match. Check out photos and footage below.

Before their show in Cornwall on Tuesday, QOTSA got in touch with ‘Sweeney’ at Sea Dogs Barbers in St Austell. The next day, Homme arrived in tow with wife and Distillers icon Brody Dalle and his three children, before himself and bandmates Troy Van Leeuwen and Jon Safley, along with LA band CRX were styled by the local barber.

“I got the email on Monday night and thought it was a wind-up at first,” Sweeney told Cornwall Live. “Josh was really nice, like a lad you’d talk to in the pub really. I found him to be quite a wise bloke.”

He continued:  “It was a very family-orientated atmosphere. Josh said he wanted his hair cut like his son and called him over, so I did it in the same mohawk sort of style. He called me ‘The Magician’ after I did it.”

After that, they all grabbed a bite to eat and even watched the evening’s England World Cup victory.

“They were very generous, they got all the Sea Dogs Barbers boys in as well as partners and friends. We ended up having dinner with them – it was all very normal and just like cutting someone’s hair in the shop,” said Sweeney.

“We watched the England v Colombia game with the band. They wanted to watch the whole thing, but their tour manager told them they couldn’t, they had to get on stage!”
