Joss Stone enters albums at number one...
Eric Prydz makes it a third straight week at number one on the UK singles chart (October 3) while Joss Stone debuts at one on the album countdown.
Ronan Keating makes a strong showing with his first single for some time, seeing ‘I Hope You Dance’ scoring the highest new entry at two, one place above Deepdish with ‘Flashdance’.
In a busy week on the singles chart, veterans REM score highly entering at five with ‘Leaving New York’, just one place below Ashlee Simpson who takes ‘Pieces Of Me’ in at four. The Streets score the other new entry on the top 10, at 10 with ‘Blinded By The Lights’.
A little further back, Big Brovaz debut at 15 with ‘Yours Fatally’, one ahead of Super Furry Animals and their expletive loaded classic ‘The Man Don’t Give A Fuck’. Jetina records the only other new entry on the top 20 at 20 with ‘French Kisses’.
Cheeky Girls, Beverly Knight and Minnie Driver are amongst the other new entries on the top 40.
Joss Stone pushes Green Day to two with ‘Mind Body & Soul’. It’s also a good week for Marilyn Manson as his Greatest Hits set debuts at four, one place above another new entry from Tom Jones & Jools Holland, who themselves enter ahead of Groove Armada with their best of. Legendary Brian Wilson’s ‘Smile’ enters at seven. It’s not such a good week for Interpol. Their second album
‘Antics’ enters at a disappointing 21.
