Jungle have announced the release date of their second album entitled ‘For Ever’.
The follow-up to their Mercury-nominated 2014 self-titled debut is released on September 14.
Annie Mac played two tracks from the new album – ‘Heavy, California’ and ‘Cherry’ – on her BBC Radio 1 show this evening (July 26), labelling the former her “Hottest Record in the World”.
Listen to ‘Heavy, California’:
And ‘Cherry’:
‘For Ever’ was written in London and is intended to sound like a “post-apocalyptic radio station playing break up songs”.
Bandmembers Josh “J” Lloyd-Watson and Tom “T” McFarland moved from Shepherd’s Bush to LA to write and record the new album, but it was ultimately finished in their hometown of London.
The collapse of long-term relationships and disillusionment with The Californian Dream led to the duo’s return home.
“J” and “T” then teamed up young producer Inflo– who, they told Annie Mac “put us out of our comfort zone”– and ‘For Ever’ came to life.
The accompanying videos for ‘Heavy, California’ and ‘Cherry’ (directed by Josh Lloyd-Watson Charlie Di Placido for the JFC collective) are available to watch on Spotify and Apple Music respectively.
