5 NOT GOING TO V2000

The rappers withdraw after last week's tourbus crash...

Jurassic 5 have cancelled their appearance at this year’s V2000 festival due to band illness.

As reported last week on nme.com, the LA hip-hop collective were on route to Houston, Texas, on Thursday (August 3), where they were scheduled to play a gig at the Astro Arena as one of the final dates on the nationwide Warped Vans Tour.

The tour bus they were in crashed, and J5 rapper Charlie 2Na was seriously injured and taken to hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries. It has since been revealed the star fractured his skull, and had to have two titanium plates inserted to his head as well as work to relieve pressure on his brain. According to a brief posting on the band’s official website, [url=]www.jurassic5.com, everyone else involved in the crash is “banged up” but “fine”.

Jurassic 5 did plan to return to the UK for shows at the V2000 Festival, at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffordshire over the weekend of August 19-20, playing the second stage below the The Bloodhound Gang, Mansun and Supergrass. As a result of the injuries sustained in the crash, the band will not be appearing, but do plan to return to Europe at the start of next year for a full tour.
