Jurassic 5 sample The White Stripes in first new song in eight years – listen

'The Way We Do It' comes ahead of the hip hop collective's five date UK tour in June

Jurassic 5 have sampled The White Stripes in what is their first newly released song in eight years.

Click above to listen to ‘The Way We Do It’, which revolves around a riff and Jack White vocal sample lifted from ‘My Doorbell’ from the rock duo’s 2005 album ‘Get Behind Me Satan’. The song was produced by Heavy D, who passed away in 2011.

The original line-up of cult hip-hop collective Jurassic 5 are set to play five UK shows next month. Chali 2na, Akil, Zaakir, Mark 7even, DJ Nu-Mark and Cut Chemist will appear at Manchester O2 Apollo on June 19, London O2 Academy Brixton on June 20, Glasgow O2 ABC on June 23, Nottingham Rock City on June 24 and Bristol O2 Academy on June 25.

The group formed in 1993, and released their acclaimed debut ‘Jurassic 5’ in 1998. The band followed it with ‘Quality Control’ in 2000 and ‘Power In Numbers’ in 2002. Cut Chemist left the collective in early 2006, ahead of the release of their final album, ‘Feedback’.
