Justin Bieber to appear in ‘The Simpsons’

The teenage popstar will make a cameo as himself in the popular cartoon

Justin Bieber is the latest music star to announce a cameo appearance in The Simpsons.

The teenage pop idol yesterday (August 21) took to his official Twitter account to write: “Just did a voice over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy”. However, the post was later deleted.

A publicist for the cartoon went on to confirm Bieber’s appearance to E! Online. According to the show’s executive producer Al Jean – speaking in Entertainment Weekly – the episode, which is expected to air next year, will be titled The Fabulous Faker Boy.

“He tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing piano in and they won’t admit him,” said Jean of Bieber’s role. “Draw your own conclusions.”

The Simpsons, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, has featured the likes of the Ramones, The White Stripes, Sonic Youth and the Red Hot Chili Peppers in cartoon form. You can check out NME’s gallery of the 15 Classic Band Cameos in The Simpsons for more.
