Canadian singer also denies he's heading to rehab
Justin Bieber posted a note on Instagram, saying he doesn’t deserve all the negative press he’s been getting.
The Canadian singer came under fire after appearing around two hours on stage for his first show at London’s O2 Arena, causing many young fans and their parents to leave early to catch trains.
Things got worse for him the night after when he was taken to hospital after being taken ill on stage, and in another incident he had to be restrained by his bodyguards after arguing with a photographer.
Bieber wrote: “Everyone in my team has been telling me, ‘keep the press happy’ but I’m tired of all the countless lies in the press right now.” The 19-year-old has 7.3 million Instagram followers, a number far short of his Twitter tally, where he has almost 36million, making his the most followed account on the site.
Countering other rumours he’d disappointed his family, he said his grandparents wouldn’t know how to contact the press, even if they had been upset. Bieber also denied reports he was heading to rehab, writing: “If Anyone believes I need rehab that’s their own stupidity lol. I’m 19 with 5 number one albums, 19 and I’ve seen the whole world.”
He finished off by saying: “And don’t think I deserve all this negative press I’ve worked my ass off to get where I am and my hard work doesn’t stop here… All this isn’t easy. I get angry sometimes. I’m human. I’m gonna make mistakes. In gonna grow and get better from them. But all the love from you guys overcomes the negativity. I love u. Thanks.”
An earlier version of the post featured a jibe at Lindsay Lohan. He wrote: “And to those comparing me to Lindsey Lohan, look at her 2012 tax statements ;)” but reposted his statement without the LiLo remark later.
