Justin Bieber’s social media dominance ended – by his girlfriend Selena Gomez

Teen star is no longer king of the internet

Justin Bieber has lost his title of being the king of social media – to his girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The irritating teen star was top of the Social 50 Chart, which ranks active artists on sites such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.

But now Billboard.com reports that Gomez has stormed from five to one this week due to online buzz generated by the release of her third album ‘When The Sun Goes Down’ on June 28.

Until this week only four acts had ever topped the new chart, Rihanna, The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Bieber.

18-year-old Gomez appeared on ITV’s Daybreak this morning to promote the launch of her new album. But she was keeping cool about her relationship with the megastar Justin Bieber.

She said: “It’s fun, I’m young, it’s nice, I’m having fun.” Revealing, huh? You read it here first.

Speaking of her seven-week tour Gomez told Billboard.com: “We’re dividing it into four sections. We’re going to have wardrobe changes. There’s going to be dancers – I will not be dancing most of the time.”
