Justin Timberlake to perform at 2016 Eurovision Song Contest

Singer recently unveiled his new single 'Can't Stop The Feeling'

Justin Timberlake is set to perform at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

The singer will debut his new single ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ at the ceremony in Stockholm this Saturday (May 14).

The track was written by Max Martin (Britney Spears and Katy Perry hitmaker) and is taken from the soundtrack to new animated film Trolls. He will perform the song during the interval at the finals.

In a statement, the show’s producer Sven Stojanovic, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity, we are very happy and excited that Justin Timberlake will perform his new song together with his band in our show.”

“It makes it extra special that the Swedish songwriters Max Martin and Shellback have co-written and co-produced the song together with Justin Timberlake.”

Timberlake provides the voice of main character Branch in the Dreamworks movie, which will be released in November. The video for ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ features cameos from Timberlake’s Trolls co-stars, including James Corden, Gwen Stefani, Anna Kendrick and Icona Pop. Watch below.

Timberlake’s last new music came in 2013 with the release of ‘The 20/20 Experience’. The double album featured singles ‘Suit & Tie’ as well as ‘Mirrors’.

The singer also recently confirmed that he is currently working on a new album. “I don’t know exactly when I’m going to put it out but yeah, I’m definitely working on a new album,” he added.

He also said what he was working on was influenced by his southern roots. “I think where I grew up in America has a lot of influence,” he said. “Growing up in Tennessee – very central of the country – Memphis is known as the birthplace of rock and roll, but also the home of the blues, but Nashville’s right down the street so there’s a lot of country music.”
