Justin Timberlake confirmed to write new music for animated film ‘Trolls’

The pop star will serve as Executive Music Producer on the forthcoming picture

Justin Timberlake has been confirmed as the Executive Music Producer on forthcoming animated film, Trolls.

As part of his role, Timberlake will also be writing and performing original material – his first new music since 2013’s ‘The 20/20 Experience’.

As announced by The Hollywood Reporter, Timberlake will contribute music for the film as well as voicing the character of Branch – “a hilariously hardcore survivalist who hides his surprising true colours”.

Speaking of his new project, Timberlake said, “I have always envisioned bringing the two worlds of film and music together for one epic event [and] couldn’t be more excited that they will collide in DreamWorks’ Trolls. This film is very special, the music is going to be very special and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it all.”

Timberlake’s vocal co-star in the film – set for release this November – will be Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect, The Twilight Saga), who will play Princess Poppy.

Timberlake has previously starred in a number of feature films, including The Social Network, Friends With Benefits and Inside Llewyn Davis.
