Justin Timberlake planning solo tour after Jay-Z jaunt

'Mirrors' singer's expected to make an announcement in April, May

Justin Timberlake is planning a solo tour after this summer’s gigs with Jay-Z, according to his manager.

Timberlake is currently scheduled to tour North American and play London’s Wireless Festival with his ‘Suit & Tie’ collaborator Jay-Z. However, his long-term manager Johnny Wright has revealed that plans for an autumn solo tour is also in the works.

When asked about the possibility of a solo tour, he told Billboard: “Yeah. Probably he’ll go out sometime in the fall. We haven’t routed that yet or figured out what cities we’re going to play. I know we’ll start in North America first. But again, our focus is getting the album out and getting the Jay/Justin piece done.”

The ‘Mirror’s singer released his new album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ this week, and is expected to announce details of the solo tour in spring. “I would say sometime in April/May we’ll announce when Justin is going to put his own solo tour out,” confirmed Wright.

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that Timberlake will release a follow to his third album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ in November. The news of a second instalment was first revealed by The Roots drummer Questlove, who performed alongside Timberlake on US TV show Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, before being confirmed by the singer.

Timberlake is set to co-headline headline this summer’s Wireless festival in London with Jay-Z. Both acts will headline individual dates prior to the joint show, with Justin Timberlake headlining the festival on Friday July 12, and Jay-Z closing the Saturday (July 13). The pair will then come together for a special preview of their US tour, titled Legends of the Summer, on Sunday July 14. They will be joined by an impressive line-up of hip-hop acts on that date including A$AP Rocky, Nas and A Tribe Called Quest’s first UK show in 20 years.

Tickets are on sale and are priced at £75 plus booking fee. To check the availability of Wireless tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
