Kaiser Chiefs and The Walkmen for Green Apple festival

Acts line-up for involvement in eco-friendly gigs

Kaiser Chiefs and The Walkmen are set to perform at this year’s Green Apple Music and Arts Festival, which will take place April 20-22.

The Decemberists, Brand New, Soulwax and Smoosh will also take part in the event which takes place in New York, Chicago and San Francisco.

The festival will feature over 200 shows in 80 venues, with every event being made carbon neutral. The festival is dedicated to raising environmental awareness by combining live musical performances with educational outreach and cultural events.

The main New York event will take place on Earth Day (April 22) in Central Park, while Chicago and San Francisco’s events will also be held that day in Lincoln Park Zoo and Golden Gate Park respectively.

Meanwhile Kaiser Chiefs are set to mount their first US tour of the year with The Walkman as support.

The tour which is being presented by NME.COM kicks off in April.
