Following their sold out UK and Ireland tour which starts next week in DUBLIN (April 3), Kaiser Chiefs will head back to North America for a summer jaunt.
The band return to America on May 24 to play Philadelphia, before touring the country, they will also appear at this year’s revived Lollapalooza festival in Chicago on July 23.
Speaking to NME.com, Kaiser Chiefs bassist Simon Rix said the group were surprised by their success so far in America, which included seeing their debut album enter the Billboard charts at Number 86 last week.
“It’s been completely unexpected. We didn’t expect what we do would translate in America, but they all seem to like it a lot, especially ‘I Predict a Riot’” Rix said. “The classic story is of British bands coming to America and spending 25 years in a tour bus trying to break it and we haven’t really had [to do] that, we just came over and every time we’ve played it’s just been sold out and we’ve been very well received.”
