Isle of Skye hotel owners praise ‘charming and polite’ guest Kanye West

Rapper believed to have visited Scotland to shoot scenes for 'Waves' video

Kanye West has been described as the “perfect guest” by the owners of a country hotel on the Isle of Skye in which he recently stayed.

It is reported that West was on the Scottish island to shoot scenes for the ‘Waves’ video, which will be released soon. The Daily Record reports that while on the Isle of Skye, West stayed at the Skeabost House Hotel, booking seven rooms for him and his entourage.

West, who recently went to Number One in the US with new album ‘The Life Of Pablo’, only stayed for one night at the hotel, Sunday (April 10), and left the following day to fly home from Inverness Airport. A room with breakfast at the hotel costs around £150.

Hotel owners Anne Gracie and Ken Gunn confirmed that West took the largest room, complete with four-poster bed, and were impressed by the rapper’s behaviour.

“Kanye was the perfect guest – charming, courteous and polite,” Gracie said. “We were delighted to offer him and his companions our usual Highland hospitality and would welcome him back any time.”

Separately a spokesman for the Skeabost House Hotel revealed more details of West’s stay at the hotel, where a night’s bed and breakfast costs around £150.

He said: “It was all very exciting. The staff at the hotel were told a high-profile celebrity was coming to stay but no-one knew exactly who until Kanye arrived and it was a total surprise.

“Kanye checked into his room which overlooked the sea and had some supper before having a snooze in his four-poster bed.

“In the morning Kanye got up, had breakfast and went off to do his filming before coming back at lunch time very tired before having a snooze and some tea.

“The staff at the hotel say he chatted to everyone. Photographs were banned. But they said he was just like one of the guys really. They did ask if Kim Kardashian West was part of his entourage, but they were told she was elsewhere.”

West has been busy travelling this month having performed his first live gig of 2016 at the Paradise International Music Festival in The Philippines on Saturday (April 9).
