Kanye West premiering new album ‘Swish’ at live-streamed gig

Rapper expected to perform at New York's Madison Square Garden on February 11

Kanye West will premiere his new album Swish at a live event in New York next month, with UK cinema chain Vue amongst those signed up to show the gig live.

Swish – the rapper’s seventh studio album – will be released on February 11, with a gig scheduled to take place at New York’s Madison Square Garden on the same day.

As the likes of Pitchfork and others report, multiple theatre listings suggest that the concert will see West performing his new album in full while also unveiling his next fashion collection. The show will be live-streamed at cinemas around the world.

A listing on Cineworld’s website reads: “The world premiere of Kanye West’s SWISH album in its entirety, live from Madison Square Garden. This is your chance to be part of one of the great musical events of the year.”

The show will include “a performance by his visual art collaborator Vanessa Beecroft”, with the listing adding: “Please note that this broadcast is not rated and may be unsuitable for under 18s. Parental discretion is advised.”

West previously teased the event by posting a picture of a laptop showing the event flyer to Twitter. See that below.

West also recently revealed the ‘Swish’ tracklisting. The album will include previously heard cuts such as ‘No More Parties In LA’, ‘Wolves’ and ‘Real Friends’, plus many not yet released.

Vue have released the following details on the event:

“Screened live from New York’s Madison Square Garden, this is the first time music fans and Kanye enthusiasts alike will hear the record, which will be accompanied by a breath-taking performance curated by celebrated Italian contemporary artist, Vanessa Beecroft.

“The long awaited “best album of all time” will be played to a live audience on Thursday evening in New York City, while fans across the UK can see the 90 minute performance at a selection of Vue cinemas from 9.15pm.

“Kevin Styles, UK and Ireland MD, Vue commented: “We pride ourselves on bringing unique events to our cinemas for the best in big screen entertainment, and are delighted to be able to give our customers exclusive access to Kanye West’s album premiere. Set to be an unforgettable performance, the much-anticipated launch of Kanye’s latest record is guaranteed to provide fans with the best seat in the house for an experience like no other”.”
