McDonald’s responds to Kanye West’s poem for Frank Ocean’s magazine

'Boys Don't Cry' was made available at pop-up shops in four cities at the weekend

McDonald’s has responded to Kanye West‘s recent poem about the fast food giant which appeared in Frank Ocean’s Boys Don’t Cry magazine.

The magazine, which accompanies Ocean’s new album ‘Blonde’, went on sale at the weekend (August 21) at pop-up shops in four cities: London, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.

The poem which you can read below, appeared to criticise the fast food giant branding their french fries as “evil” and their McRib containing “artificial meat”.

Now the company has taken to Twitter, to post it’s own poem, which states: “We’re lovin’ the love for McDonald’s World Famous Fries and Apple Pies. Like the beef in our burgers our love for our fans’ creativity is 100% real.”

Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ also appeared on US radio station Hot 97 recently when he was asked to rap the track. After delivering his rendition, the rapper described it as “Shakespearean” and called it “a classic”. Watch below.

The magazine features short stories, interviews with Lil’ B and Om’Mas Keith, a pitch for a TV series, photos from a fashion shoot and several poems written by Ocean.

McDonald’s man
McDonald’s man
The French fries had a plan
The French fries had a plan
The salad bar and the ketchup made a band
Cus the French Fries had a plan
The French fries had a plan
McDonald’s man
McDonald’s
I know them French fries have a plan
I know them French fries have a plan
The cheeseburger and the shakes formed a band
To overthrow the French fries plan
I always knew them French fries was evil man
Smelling all good and shit
I don’t trust no food that smells that good man
I don’t trust it
I just can’t
McDonald’s man
McDonald’s man
McDonald’s, man
Them French fries look good tho
I knew the Diet Coke was jealous of the fries
I knew the McNuggets was jealous of the fries
Even the McRib was jealous of the fries
I could see it through his artificial meat eyes
And he only be there some of the time
Everybody was jealous of them French fries
Except for that one special guy
That smooth apple pie
