Kanye West joins the Weeknd onstage at Coachella – watch

The rapper made an unannounced appearance during Abel Tesfaye's set

Kanye West made a surprise appearance with The Weeknd last night at Coachella.

The Weeknd followed Jack White on the main stage and halfway through his set West made an unannounced appearance and to the joy of the crowd performed ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’, ‘I Don’t Like’, ‘Black Skinhead’ and recent single ‘All Day’. West arrived onstage after The Weeknd delivered an a cappella cover of West’s ‘Heartless’.

The pair performed in front of a red screen with West wearing a leather skirt. The set was part of Coachella 2015’s second weekend, which takes place in Indio, California. Weekend one saw more guest appearances, including Zack de la Rocha and Travis Barker joining Run The Jewels, and Madonna joining Drake.

Meanwhile, West had his own gig in Armenia halted after the rapper jumped into a lake.

The show, which was being livestreamed on YouTube, took place at Swan Lake in Yerevan and, as Fact reports, the rapper jumped off the stage and into a shallow part of the lake while performing ‘Good Life’.

Before taking to the water, West shouted: “Over there, can y’all see me over there? We’re going to do something different right now, like, like, like we always do it this time!”

Fans swarmed over West in the shallow water and police moved in to stop the show. After 15 minutes without any action, the crowd – who had been chanting for West’s name in a bid for him to return to the stage – began to disperse. The rapper made it through six songs, including ‘Stronger’ and ‘All Of The Lights’, before the gig was cut short.
