Kanye West has addressed a recent petition which was set up by festival-goers angered by his Glastonbury Festival booking.
Following West’s announcement, an online petition calling for the artist to be replaced by a rock band attracted more than 133,000 signatures.
Now, speaking to Q, West has labelled the petition “an insult to music fans all over the world”. The rapper also denied that race would have been a factor in sparking the petition.
Previously, Dave Grohl had stated that the protest would only fuel West to prove doubters wrong. See more in the video interview below.
Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis recently spoke about what to expect from West’s upcoming headline set, telling Digital Spy: “I think he’ll create an incredible show. What he’s talking about at the moment is very exciting. I think he’s going to take it big”.
In the same interview with Q, West also claimed that “90 per cent of celebrities only use their voice for the purpose of making money for themselves”.
