Paul McCartney is not co-producing new Kanye West album, says source

West's barber had claimed that McCartney and West have worked on 'Yeezus' follow-up together

Paul McCartney is not co-producing the entirety of Kanye West‘s new album, despite reports claiming that he will work alongside the rapper on a whole record.

McCartney’s ‘FourFiveSeconds’ collaboration with West and Rihanna was unveiled this weekend and features input from rapper Ty Dolla $ign, Dirty Projectors’ frontman Dave Longstreth, plus producers Mike Dean and Dallas Austin, among others.

Numerous reports that McCartney will work on the ‘Yeezus’ follow-up have emerged, citing comments made by West’s longtime friend and barber Ibn Jasper on Instagram. In screengrabbed comments, Jasper states that ‘FourFiveSeconds’ will appear on both West and Rihanna’s new albums.

However, a source close to McCartney has told NME that the report is “not true” and that the former Beatle is not co-producing the album.

News of McCartney’s collaboration with Rihanna and West was revealed earlier this month by Ty Dolla $ign, who also contributed backing vocals to the previously released collaboration ‘Only One’.
