Origins of 'Yeezus' track revealed
An early demo of Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’ single ‘New Slaves’ is streaming online.
The track in question is called ‘Cruel Cold Winter’ and was produced by Teachers, a project by producer and MIA’s former husband Benjamin Bronfman (pictured). It was initially sent to West in late 2012.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Bronfman revealed that West had approached him over possible beats for his upcoming album, telling him “Just make it hot, make it really dope”.
“He didn’t really get into specifics,” Bronfman added, “which is funny – he’s the type of person who will get really specific in person, but not on the phone”.
Bronfman first collaborated with the rapper on 2010’s ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, with Bronfman’s own voice used as a sample on album track ‘Monster’.

Kanye West is expected to release a new album shortly. It was recently stated that he has “20 finished songs” for the record.
Previously West had said that he wanted his forthcoming seventh studio LP to be released in September. “I think most likely September,” he said earlier in the year, regarding a release date. “I go back and forth. Like, should it be September or should it be October? Should it be November? But then I’m like, I have to work on Adidas and be with my child.”
