Kanye West proposed to Kim Kardashian whilst a 50-piece orchestra played Lana Del Rey’s ‘Young and Beautiful’ last night (October 21).
Kanye popped the question in front of friends and family at the AT&T Park stadium in San Francisco – where San Francisco Giants play – on his partner’s 33rd birthday, reports E! Online. He hired out the stadium especially to ask Kardashian to marry him and had the words “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!” projected on a big screen. The orchestra then played a version of Keri Hilson’s ‘Knock You Down’, the original of which features Kanye West and Ne-Yo.
Kanye West kicked off ‘The Yeezus Tour’ in Seattle on Saturday night (October 19). The rapper delivered a career-spanning two-hour set. The stage at the 17,500-capacity Key Arena was partly covered by a giant mountain from which he performed.
Above the mountain was a large video screen projecting complicated visuals including animations of Kanye. At one point, he was joined onstage by a Jesus Christ lookalike and for several tracks he was accompanied by a troupe of backing dancers.
‘The Yeezus Tour’, West’s first solo tour in five years, was scheduled to continue on October 20 in Vancouver but that date was postponed. The tour will pick up again tonight at the San Jose SAP Center and run until December 7, taking in shows across North America.
