Kanye West won’t face felony charges after being accused of attacking a photographer

Alleged incident occurred at LAX airport on July 19

Kanye West won’t face felony charges after a photographer accused the rapper of attacking him at LAX airport last month (July).

A video of the incident appeared online on July 20, the day after the alleged attack occurred. The video shows West initially trying to ignore questions from a photographer, before appearing to lose his patience and beginning an agitated conversation with the snapper.

The rapper then tries to seize the photographer’s camera in a scuffle which sees the paparazzo fall to the ground. After being urged to stop by an onlooker, West holds his hands up and walks away.

However, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office has now confirmed that it won’t be prosecuting West over the incident, the Associated Press reports. Prosecutors said the photographer sustained no serious injury during the incident and it’s unknown whether any damage was caused to his camera. They also confirmed that no weapon was used during the alleged attack and noted that West doesn’t have a felony record.

However, the incident could still cause legal problems for West as his case is now being sent on to the LA city attorney for possible misdemeanor charges.
