Rapper performs five new tracks from forthcoming studio album
Kanye West played a number of new tracks from his forthcoming ‘Yeezus’ album last night (June 9) at Governors Ball festival in New York.
The rapper took to the festival’s main stage 20 minutes late to play an hour and a half long festival closing set, which saw him start and finish with his new song ‘Black Skinhead’.
West also played his new song ‘New Slaves’ and then debuted a number of other never-before-heard tracks from his next album as well as ‘I Am A God’, first heard at the Met Gala in New York earlier this year. Full video footage of the song, which can be seen at the bottom of the page, sees West rapping: “Hurry up with my damn massage/Hurry up with my damn croissants.”
West performed two other brand new tracks, one thought to be titled ‘On Site’ and another with an unknown title. Scroll down to see fan-shot footage of ‘On Site’ posted to Vine during the show. After playing ‘Clique’, West spoke to the crowd, saying: “This is usually the part of the show where I start complaining about shit.” He added: “I’m just happy to be making music and be able to perform that shit tonight. Y’know, with this album we ain’t dropped no single to radio, we ain’t got no big campaign shit. We ain’t even got no cover, we just made some real music.”
West went on to say that with his previous albums there’s always been a game plan, with the label saying the record should be released in August or September so the songs will be big on radio. “But honestly, when I listen to the radio, that ain’t where I wanna be no more,” he said. “At this point I don’t give a fuck about selling a million records, I just want to put out an album this that you can rock to this summer.”

‘I Am A God’
