Kanye West‘s new album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ looks set to sell over 500,000 copies in its first week of release in the USA.
According to Billboard, West‘s fifth album looks set to go straight to Number One in the Billboard Hot 200, with sales expected to hit 550,000. To be certified ‘gold’ an album needs to sell over 500,000 copies.
The figure is almost 100,000 more than the rapper managed when his last album, 2008’s ‘808s and Heartbreaks’, was released.
If he does make the top spot, as expected, it will be his fourth Number One album in a row in the country. His 2005 album ‘Late Registration’ sold 860,000 copies in its first week and the follow-up, 2007’s ‘Graduation’, sold 957,000.
The new album was released on Monday (November 22) in the UK and looks set to enter the Top 15 on Sunday’s official album chart.
