Kanye West has reportedly submitted one of his songs for recognition in two rock music categories at next year’s Grammy Awards.
The rapper, who has already won 21 Grammys in his career, has put forward a track from his ‘Kids See Ghosts’ project, which he recorded with Kid Cudi and released back in June.
According to TMZ, the song, ‘Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2)’, has been submitted by West’s team at Def Jam for consideration in two rock categories at the 2019 Grammys: Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song. Listen to the track below.
TMZ claims that ‘Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2)’ has “already made it through the screening process” in both categories, and has since been sent out on the first round ballot to voters. If the submissions gain enough support, they will then be nominated in their desired categories.
If true, West will find out if he’s been nominated in the two rock categories when the full list of nominees for the 2019 Grammys is announced on December 5.
The 2019 Grammys ceremony will take place on February 10 in LA.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that West had donated more than $70,000 to a Chicago mayoral candidate so that she could run for the position once again.
