Because "existence is a blink"
Yesterday (May 10), co-creator Justin Roiland announced that the cult Adult Swim show will return for a fourth season, confirming that there have been 70 new episodes commissioned.
Responding to the news on Twitter, Kanye tweeted: “This is the greatest news. This is my favorite show. I’ve seen every episode at least 5 times each.”
Reacting to Kanye’s tweet and praise, Roiland reached out to say: “Let’s hang soon. Would love to have a good time with you cause that’s all that matters at this point. Existence is a blink.”
West appeared keen on making it happen, replying: “100%. I love the way you think. I’ll reach out”. See his tweet below.
Roiland had confirmed that there are 70 new episodes of the show coming. There’s currently only been 31 episodes over three seasons, which means that Rick and Morty could be running for a long time more – although it’s not known how many episodes will feature in season 4.
Roiland also marked the news in an Instagram video with Dan Harmon, which featured the pair taking a shower together, leading Roiland to quip: “I’ve gotta get back to work! We both do!”. See that beneath.
Rick and Morty first premiered in 2013, with its third season concluding in October 2017.
Last year, the show’s fans successfully petitioned for McDonald’s to bring back its limited-edition Szechuan sauce from 1998 after it was name-checked in an episode.
Meanwhile, Kanye West has caused controversy recently by praising Trump, criticising Obama and meeting with controversial right-wing pundit Candace Owens.
West is said to have returned to Wyoming to finish work on his new album. Here’s everything we know about his record so far.
50 Cent recently mocked Kanye on Twitter over his recent comments about slavery and liposuction.
